Restauration und Umbau einer Moto Guzzi

Als Kontrastprogramm zur modernen Fahrzeugtechnik, die mich im beruflichen Alltag umgibt, habe ich dieses Projekt zum erholsamen Ausgleich genutzt. Neue Herausforderungen wie die Herstellung eines Kraftstofftanks aus Aluminium schulten mein Verständnis für Form und Material. Frei von Themen wie Marktforschung, Ökonomie oder Coperate Identity konnte ich mich hier auch an den kleinsten Details lange aufhalten. So habe ich es mir gegönnt Komponenten wie Drehzahl-Tacho Kombinistrument, Lenker-Taster, Batteriegehäuse, Kabelbaum und vieles mehr selber zu konstruieren und herzustellen. Bei manchen Bauteilen konnte ich eine Menge neues Wissen und Fähigkeiten erlangen. Neukonfektionierung des Kabelbaums mit Can-Bus-Technik gehörten dazu. Das Fahrwerk der über 40 Jahre alten Maschine wurde dezent auf den neusten Technologie-Standard angehoben. Das Ergebnis ist ein zeitlos schlichtes Motorrad mit nostalgischen Charme.

As a contrast to the modern vehicle technology that surrounds me in everyday work, I used this project to relax. New challenges such as the production of an aluminum fuel tank trained my understanding of shape and material. Free from topics such as market research, economics or corporate identity, I was able to spend a lot of time here, even on the smallest details. So I allowed myself to construct and manufacture components such as a speedometer combination, handlebar buttons, battery housing, wiring harness and much more myself. With some components I was able to gain a lot of new knowledge and skills. This included the re-assembly of the wiring harness with Can-Bus technology. The chassis of the more than 40-year-old machine has been subtly upgraded to the latest technology standard. The result is a timelessly simple motorcycle with nostalgic charm.
